Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Engineering Tech II for the RWESS, supporting the Army Division. In your role as an Engineering Technician 2, you will directly support the Telemetry/Flight Termination Systems within the Missiles Sensor and Instrumentation Division with testing various weapon and missile systems in support of the Redstone Test and Evaluation Services (RTES) contract.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS

 

  • High School/GED
  • 3 years of applicable experience supporting engineering or testing of hardware in the appropriate area of specialization; or 2 years of applicable college/vocational/military/technical school and 1 year of applicable experience in the assigned specialty area
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required for all applicants)
  • Experience in the following areas is required: ability to understand basic engineering terminology; understanding of proper cabling technology; familiarity with cable assembly tooling to include crimp tools, torque test fixtures, crimp pull fixtures and solder equipment; preparation of test items including test equipment setup; and ability to write assembly instructions, test procedures and provide support for quality inspection of first article deliverables.
  • Experience must include knowledge of electronics such as printed circuit boards, oscilloscopes, CIRRIS Systems high voltage cable testers and discrete wire harnessing.
  • Experience must include a working knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Windows Operating Systems (OS) for personal computers and MS Office products.
  • The skill sets Preferences will be given to applicants:
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Who are high-energy, fast-paced, self-motivated, driven, organized, attentive to detail.
  • Desire to work in a laboratory environment.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Construct and test cables and wiring harnesses from drawings.
  • Use drawings, general and special test equipment to test cables, wiring harnesses, populated printed circuit boards, receivers, and transmitters.
  • Use drawings, general and special tools and test equipment to assemble, test, and troubleshoot TM/FTS kits.
  • Integrate TM/FTS kits into missiles prior to test missions.
